Here in the US the anti bilingual education wave is growing in very
oversimplified and over-ideologized ways. Newt Gingrich, the Republican
legislative leader gets big applause for saying we must do away with
bilingual education which deprives children of the opportunity to
learn English and succeed in schools. The stratification policies seem
more overt in Hong Kong from what you write.
