Dear Mike there is some interesting experience in Italy about the
question of arranging sets and even architecture and urbanistics according
to the needs of children, which I presume you know, but as far as I know
there aren't still publications. In some little town like Pesaro and Fano (
in the region Le Marche, where there is earthquakes) and also in Sicily,
children were invited to take part in the City Council for presenting their
requests and needs. A subsequent elaboration of this material was done by
a group of psychologists, colleagues of the Italian Institut of
Psychopaedagogy of the National Research Council, directed by Francesco
Tonucci ( he published ,in many different languages, books were
psychological problems of the children are presented by means of drawings,
perhaps you know him . He is the author of the drawings for the open
lecture I hold at the Moscow conference in 1995 published in the Journal
Studi di Psicologia dell'Educazione in the issue I sent you). Perhaps in
present debate of your net, when I still didn't subscribe you already
mentioned this type of research. In this case let me apologize for the
useless repetition. If not, it could be interesting to connect these
colleagues for expanding the experience. What do you think? Lot's of
greetings Serena Veggetti
