Undergraduate and Graduate Faculty Positions in

Early Childhood/Primary Teacher Education
Early Childhood Special Education
Child Development Research

Erikson Institute, an independent graduate school and research center affil=
iated with Loyola University, Chicago, and working in collaboration with Co=
lumbia College, Chicago, is seeking to fill three faculty positions:

1) Early childhood/primary teacher education with a focus on urban educatio=
n. An interest in integrating the arts into early childhood curriculum stro=
ngly preferred. Candidates should have some early childhood teaching experi=
ence, and experience in teacher education, or curriculum development. Facul=
ty member will be expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate level=
s, supervise students in internships at both levels, and participate in sch=
ool-based research.

2) Early childhood special education with a focus on early childhood progra=
ms, infancy through primary age. Faculty member will be expected to teach a=
t the undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise students at both levels,=
including students in Infant Studies track of the master's degree program,=
and participate in research.

3) Child development research with an interest in developmental risk in you=
ng children and families; direct practice experience desirable. Faculty mem=
ber will be expected to carry out a program of applied research, mentor doc=
toral students in research skills, and teach and advise in the master's and=
doctoral programs.

Positions will begin September 1, 1998. All candidates must have an earned =
doctorate, field experience working with children and families, a strong ch=
ild development background, college or university teaching experience, rese=
arch experience, and an area of scholarly inquiry. Candidates must specify =
