After being off the list for awhile I=92m signing on again (with a new em=
ail
address). I owe my involvement in c-h psychology, Vygotsky and activity
theory to Mike Cole with whom I worked in the 70s. Since then, I=92ve go=
ne in
the direction of community-based projects for children and youth,
non-interpretive psychotherapy, and an integration of theatre and
psychology--all influenced in part by a reading of Vygotsky that is more
radically nonfoundational and nonepistemological than most. The focus of=
the
work is the creating of environments in/by/through which people create th=
eir
development. I=92ve written a few books recently which might be of inter=
est to
members of the list--especially a book just out this week, Holzman, SCHO=
OLS
FOR GROWTH: RADICAL ALTERNATIVES TO CURRENT EDUCATIONAL MODELS (Erlbaum),=
an
integration of theoretical discussion on developmental learning (a
Vygotskian-Wittgensteinian influenced conception and practice) and
description of three radical independent alternative schools. One of my =
main
interests lately is to create more dialogue among those who identify (or =
are
identified) as postmodernists, critical psychologists, and activity
theorists. =20
