FACULTY POSITION IN K-12 LITERACY EDUCATION

The Department of Instructional Leadership and Academic
Curriculum in the University of Oklahoma's College of Education
invites nominations and applications for a full-time, tenure
track position in the field of literacy education. Candidates
at the assistant and associate ranks will be considered.

Salary: Nine months, commensurate with rank and experience

Beginning Date: August 16, 1998

Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in literacy, including
courses for state reading certification.
Advise undergraduate and graduate students.
Participate in undergraduate and graduate program development.
Conduct research and participate in other scholarly activities.
Provide service to the university, to the community, and to the
broader profession.

Requirements:
Earned doctorate in Literacy Education, Reading Education,
English/Language Arts Education, or related field.
Potential for or demonstrated competency in research,
publication, and grant writing.
Minimum of three years of experience teaching at the K-12
level.

Deadline: Screening will begin January 20, 1998, and continue
until the position is filled.
