Now this:

"handling the views of students"

=2E.. is to me an example of
where assuming typicality of The University Teacher
may not be
altogether warranted.

Seems it means quite different things
according to what body you happen to be wearing
that day.

Oh sorry, I forgot. That most people probably don't go around changing
their body every day. Or very often at all...

As a budding primary school teacher
at the mature age of 40
being not very tall,
and not looking very strong -- and here appearance is close to truth

I was always very... impressed
by those sturdy male teachers
telling me anecdotes:

like how they won respect in unruly classes
by lifting the chair of one of the cheekiest boys
(with the kid on it, that is)
straight up off the floor
and holding it there for a minute

You do that once, you never need to do it in the same class again
they say
