Thanks very much for your much helpful feedback to my paper on beauty
contests in Hong Kong. I've noticed some areas which require further work,
e.g., the audience response, or how the shows are taken up by different
members of the audience, e.g., women? children? audience of different
socioeconomic backgrounds? I'm planning a research grant proposal,
and would like to hear your views on the different kinds of methodology
useful for studying audience response or what the audience makes
of TV shows/programmes (e.g., telephone interviews, questionnaire survey,
interviews, or... )
