By the way, I hope nobody is offended by the little attempt at comedy
in my "genre" message. I don't mean to criticize people who organize
conferences on single themes, particularly text, narrative, and genre.
Geoff Nunberg's meeting on genre in Hawaii in January should be great,
and I'm hoping against hope that I'll be able to attend.
