The chapter by Litowitz in the Contexts for Learning volume is a very
good example of how a sociocultural perspective can be married with a
psychoanalytic and semiotic perspective. She writes about the
identification process as it occurs between a student and a teacher.
According to Bonnie, this involves both positive and negative
(resistance) affect--which she illustrates with examples.

By the way, this volume will be coming out in paperback in the fall.
