I think there are a number of senses of "narrative" being discussed at
the present. Would you mind elaborating on the difference between
Bakhtin's view of narrative and what you called the 'genre' view? Would
you also help out by telling us/me more about the distinction between
Bakhtin's notion of character and what you called "poststructuralist
notions of identity"?
