LEV S. VYGOTSKY’S IDEAS IN EDUCATION:
RESHAPING TEACHING AND LEARNING FOR THE 21ST CENTURY

This conference celebrates the 100th birthday of Lev Vygotsky, honoring the
increasing influence of his ideas on educational practices. Vygotsky’s works
created the foundation for the development of cognitive education, dynamic
assessment, and new approaches to special education and
bilingual/multicultural education. This conference is unique in its focus on
the educational aspects of Vygotsky’s scientific legacy as a promising
alternative to existing educational practices.
