The Graduate School of Education at the University of California at
Berkeley is searching for two senior positions with a strong emphasis
on development in mathematics and science education (one position
each). These positions build on existing strength in mathematics and
science education (the Division of Education in Mathematics, Science
and Technology) and on strength in developmental research (Educational
Psychology), and are aimed at cementing a closer relation between
these two in a new faculty group. In addition, we are intending to
build a greater emphasis on younger learners compared to our current
faculty interests which skew toward middle school on up.

Please circulate widely, and call our attention to any good
candidates. Direct suggestions and inquiries to the chairs of the
search committees as follows:

Development and Science Search Committee: Andy diSessa
disessa who-is-at soe.berkeley.edu

Development and Mathematics search committee: Alan Schoenfeld,
alans who-is-at violet.berkeley.edu

Formal announcements are appended.
