Hi fellow xmca'ers,

I've been reading Penelope Eckert's Jocks and Burnouts... and would like
to know if there's someone out there who's also interested in the book, or
in studies of youth culture, esp. in working class schools. I'd like to
hear your thoughts and feelings, and views on youth culture, especially
"resistance" culture... My aim is to see if these theories, studies and
research works could help me understand adoescents better, especially
those in disadvantaged situations... Please respond with anything you
have in mind... I'll greatly appreciate your responses! Thanks!

Angel

Oh, East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet,
Till Earth and Sky stand presently at God's great Judgment Seat;
But there is neither East nor West, Border, nor Breed, nor Birth,
When ... we stand face to face in the cyber space? ...
