Your experiment was an interesting one. In light of these recent
discussions, I've been thinking about programmatic music in which a
composer or someone has written a narrative to go along with the music. An
interesting example of this although it's not programmatic per se is
Beethoven's 6th Symphony, "The Pastoral." Each movement of the
symphony represents some element of country life. One movement is
called "The Peasants' Merry Making," the following movement is referred to
a"The Storm." It would be interesting to see what images are conjured fofor
someone who does not know the theme of each movement. That's all for now.
