I agree completely with your statement about voices and silences.
We do not clarify concepts in their depths and complexity when we (when
I) write these rapid jottings of thinking.
In that, e-mail is like a fast, heady cobversation, and that is why it
is so rewarding to me. One gets a chance to
think with others without always struggling
with clarity and precision. That is my
style in these exchanges, and I always hope
to go back to the messages and to refine
them in some form. Thanks for your
