Dear Susan,
It is a pleasure to get such an immediate reply to my introductory
message. I am not a math specialist, but I worked a lot in the
elementary school to investigate a connection between cognitive
structures of the students'knowledge and structures of interaction in
the classroom. This is a typical Vygotskian scheme of experiment,
going from interpsychic to intrapsychic level.

I would gladly share my experience and texts with you, if you are
interested. I am staying in WCER, room 781, tel. 263-3452.

If you would like to contact a real math. specialist, working in the
same direction, you will have that opportunity in two weeks. Vitalii
Rubtsov, the Director of Psychological Institute in Moscow is coming
to Madison. Besides, Prof. Bloch has wonderful video of math. lesson,
taken in my Moscow school, where the experiments on new math.
curriculum are in progress.

Looking forward to meeting you,

Galina
