somewhat relevant to the constructivist issue...

Over the past week or so, I sketched out an argument, very rough
and tentative, discussing the serious flaws in the philosophical
thinking of Egon Guba. This is relevant to Bill's question, since
Guba considers himself a constructivist, and his 'naturalistic
inquiry' is more often than not the method of choice of many folk
in education who consider themselves constructivists, especially
if they are using qualitative methods.
Since this file is about 500 lines, and not all that relevant to
folk who are not dealing with Guba's thought, what I'll do is
send it via reply to anyone who wants it. Some day i'll carve
a real article out of it, but for now it is the roughest of
drafts of said article.
send me email to gshank who-is-at niu.edu if you want this file, and i'll
send it along....
