Limited Term Contract

DUTIES:

Thompson Rivers University (TRU) is currently seeking a recent
graduate (having received a PhD degree in the last 4 years) to work as
a postdoctoral fellow in a project directed by Dr. Norm Friesen. This
project, titled “Discursive Psychology and Social Technology:
Investigating Web 2.0 in Education” is funded by a grant from the

The research project focuses on the use of new media (Web 2.0,

The successful applicant will also:

· Be able to engage in review, writing and dissemination activities

· Have a background in education, educational technology or
educational media, preferably with an emphasis in issues of literacy
and multiple literacies

· Be able to analyze video and audio recordings of students working
with different media in classroom and seminar settings

· Be familiar with a number of educational research methods and data
gathering techniques

· Be open to the possibility of teaching at a university level

Further activities and responsibilities can be worked out in
discussion with Dr. Friesen. All work will be supervised by Dr.
Friesen, the principle investigator in the project.

This position is funded at $31,000 per annum (including benefits) for
a period of 12-18 months beginning in November 2010 (or as soon as
