Re: RES: [xmca] Michael Cole on mediation, CHAT, & the blind man and the stick

You can use Vodburner, Joao. I used it for the recording of Peter Smagorinsky:

You can record with the free download, but you get a Vodburner watermark on the video.

Or you can pay about $10 per month to rent it or buy for a reasonable price, $50 or something. It includes a fairly clunky but effective and easy to use video editor which allows you to have one end, the other end or both videos side-by-side and compresses it for streaming.

There are others, which have been mentioned on this list.

stick

Hello,
Today, Mike Cole was generous enough to talk with a group of Learning Sciences graduate students at Indiana University about mediation, learning, and the reasons for working with learning theories.

I recorded the conversation, which was conducted via Skype, and have posted it to the Vimeo page for the Learning Sciences Graduate Student Association (http://vimeo.com/lsgsa). The picture is not great, but the conversation more than compensates.

Link to full conversation here: http://vimeo.com/15651233
Link to a short clip of Mike Cole talking about the blind man and the stick here: http://vimeo.com/15651704

You can maybe imagine what a thrill it was for us to have the chance to talk to Mike. At the end of the conversation, he encouraged us all to join XMCA and post questions to the experts on the list. So: when the whippersnappers invade, you'll know who's to blame.

Thanks, Mike!

jenna
