Re: [xmca] Do You Know?

David,

Because there's no J in Russian! Д. Уотсон = Дж. Уотсон

In Section 4 and Section 5 of Thinking and Speech in Russian (and also
in the INDEX of the Collected Works) the behaviorist who is obviously
J.B. Watson is referred to as D. Watson. (Д. Уотсон). Does anybody know
why?

While I was finding out about this and other questions I noticed that my
Russian-English Dictionary (Dutton 1959, edited by A.I. Smirnitsky) was
compiled by somebody called Z.S. Vigodskaya. Any relation?
