Re: RE: [xmca] bodies and artifacts

I want to acknowledge the BIAS and foregrounding of a single focus or  communication pattern within the construct of intersubjectivity.
However, though it is biased, the singularity of its flashlight approach does illuminate what I humbly believe are fundamental processes that in conversation with sociocultural perspectives enrich both perspectives.
I personally agree with you that too often intersubjective discourse focuses  intensely on the "DYAD" and that is why sociocultural theory is such a necessary corrective to the preoccupation with the dyad as too narrow a focus to try to understand being human.
 
What intersubjectivity theory does offer to sociocultural perspectives is detailed "experience-near" elaborations of emotion and affect-attunement as "ontologically" prior to subjectivity.
 
However, in the spirit of pragmatism I accept that ANY position I currently take is FALLIBLE and can be modified or rejected completely through conversation within a community of inquirers.  At this point in my own personal journey intersubjectivity seems to be fertile ground to furrow.
 
The one area of practice that is a shared focus for relational psychoanalysis, communication theories, and sociocultural theory is infant development within cultural settings.
As Bruner emphasized in "Actual Minds, Possible Worlds" our developmental theories of infant development are cutural artifacts and  therefore the current interest in intersubjectivity as a cultural phenomena at this current moment in our intellectual history is interesting.
