Assistant Professor - Developmental Psychologist

The Developmental Science program within the Department of Psychology at the
University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for a tenure track
position at the Assistant Professor level to begin in September 2010.  We
seek an outstanding scientist with an established record of innovative
research to join our Developmental Science Program.  Candidates in any area
of developmental psychology will be considered.  Special consideration will
be given to candidates whose research interests include adoption, effects of
early experience, general cognitive, affective/emotional, psychobiological,
gene-environment, and environmental, contextual, and cultural influences on
development. The successful candidate will have opportunities for
affiliations with the Center for Research on Families and the Rudd Adoption
Research Program, as appropriate.

Successful candidates will have a Ph.D., a strong commitment to high quality
research and teaching, and the potential to develop and maintain an
extramurally funded research program.  Salary will be commensurate with
qualifications and experience. Candidates should submit curriculum vitae,
representative research papers, research and teaching statements, and at
