The University of Texas at El Paso invites applications for a tenure-track
position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Reading
Education. Candidates must be knowledgeable in theory, research, and
practice in PK-6 reading education with experience in school and community
settings. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in reading/literacy
education at time of hire, demonstrate critical understanding of
contemporary perspectives on literacy/biliteracy development and evidence of
scholarship or scholarly potential in literacy/biliteracy education.
Experience with bilingual/ESL students is desirable.
The appointment date for these positions is August 2009 or earlier. Salary
is negotiable and commensurate with experience. These positions will remain
open until filled; review of applications will begin December 1, 2008.
