College of Education

One of the largest and most diverse colleges of its kind in the nation, the
UGA College of Education offers 15 undergraduate majors and more than 34
graduate programs leading to careers as educators, counselors,
psychologists, administrators, researchers, educational and health-related
specialists. Its graduate programs are perennially ranked among the nation's
top 20 public universities. At least five of its programs - elementary
education, secondary education, counseling and human development services,
and vocational/technical education - have ranked among the top 10 for more
than a decade. Four other COE programs have consistently ranked among the
top 20. The College's rigorous academic programs offer opportunities for
study and research with many nationally and internationally recognized
faculty who are pursuing cutting-edge research, forging bold initiatives and
building community-based partnerships.

The University is situated in Athens, Georgia, a very attractive place to
live, a vibrant university town of 100,000 (250,000 in the SMSA) located
approximately 60 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta, an international
business center with a population over 4M. Athens is convenient to Atlanta,

recreational opportunities (driving distance to both the Atlantic and Gulf
coasts and 40 minutes from the mountains).
