There ARE people who do NOT use DOS or anything MS. So we Mac users
need to be served as well, though I don't think that this should be a
problem. There are about 7% Mac people over all, and it may be
higher in the community that subscribes to this list. (Or less, just
don't know) WMR

There might be a necessary cost if anybody is using Microsoft DOS,
without html, as their interface. Is that anybody, now?

The maxim that I personally go by is that she who does the work gets
to decide -- so I'm happy with whatever UCSD folks want to do. I'd be
surprised, though, if UCSD does not have capabilities that would
serve all of us better than the old listserv mechanism.
