Mary- The podcast with its text and references seems to be a pretty good
candidate
for an entire course. It was fascinating to me to have her come to the work
of Ed
Hutchins and Latour at the end because it provides such interesting and very
contemporary links to parts of CHAT discourse that have appeared in XMCA
(the symposium on interobjectivity where Latour is responded to, among
others,
by Engestrom and Hutchins) and to our current local efforts to force better
coordination
between the distributed cognition lab and lchc here at ucsd.

Practically speaking, how might XMCA schedule a time to take up, say, the
podcast,
as a starting point for engaging the range of ideas in Hayles' interesting
discussions?
