I wanted to add that in the act, we overcome all antinomies, all doubt,
all contractions. And interestingly, in the act, we also create
antinomies, contradictions. . . Because it is in the movement toward
the object that consciousness comes to face itself as an other, through
the other, only to return to itself.
And a final quote tonight, from Hegel
"Thus the action has a double significance not only because it is
directed against itself as well as against the other but also because
it is indivisibly the action of one as well as of the other." (1977, p.
112)
This is the source of intersubjectivity, which is both produced in the
action, all the while it is presupposed by the action.
