Another variant on this issue is to read Russian in latin characters or
vice versa. It takes quite a while to learn and if my experience is
representative, it is assymetrical. I can read and write my odd form
of russian in latin letters as fast as I can write in english, or read,
but reading English in cyrillic characters is befuddling.
