A colleague asks this question for which I do not have a list of refs,
although a lot of experience provides me with strong opinions. Does anyone
have refs/"data".?

do you have any references which critique or study the effectiveness of
what I would call the mainstream call for video based learning. Ie. one
point souce sending out streaming video to a mass of people all over the
globe. (Don't we call that TV actually?)
