Today's Liddy is tomorrow's education czar

Hi Eric,

We've got charismatic, if not nefarious, characters like Gordon Liddy
appearing on national tv making claims that teachers need to be people who
"know their subject", and that "pedagogical degrees" are useless. Who's
going to counter that argument without wondering about dodging a bullet?

Whether a better way of measuring can make any difference in such a highly
political arena is anyone's guess. I'm betting on the conservative choice --
pun intended.

Anyway, LOTS of people post to this list without getting a response. Get
used to it. People spend some of their extra time reading and writing here
and to prompt a response, one has to capture the attention of someone who is
busy and most likely working on some small part of the big mind-in-society
picture. Making a new insight seems to be a good strategy. Beyond that
your guess is as good as mine -- but if you spend some time looking at what
postings do bring responses, then perhaps you can inform all of us!
Otherwise it is PFM.
