should you encounter trouble

Dear XMCA-ites. From time to time members get dropped from the list
entirely owing to gremlins in our server, so far as I can tell (although
there is a pretty savage level of virus distribution which might help
destabalize things. For now, write to peggy (pbengel@ucsd.edu) if you
get bumped without any apparent cause.

At present Claudia Metz, who helps our local Communication Faculty with
their web activities, is instituting some changes that we have discussed
over the past year but not gotten around to. This may also lead to
destabilization and we would greatly appreciate feedback if you run into
anything odd. We also welcome suggestions for improvements.

With labor day looming the end of summer is upon us. It appears there is
critical mass for some sort of course as per earlier suggestions, but
that discussion is going on locally if at all at present. I am hoping
local folks are seeking local ways to give credit so we can keep costs
and bureaucracies to a min.

We will also be implementing our "voting system" to choose which
articles from MCA to discuss when that facility is ready. And, of course,
people can always send in papers for discussion as did Hans recently.

Why does it seem like only yesterday so many of us were preparing
to go to Amsterdam and then rushing to meet AERA and SRCD deadlines?

Time flies, but why does it have to use the Concorde?
mike
