Nate-- In many places, Mexico is one, students get credit for an official
looking, signed, notifiaction of participation in an educational/research
activity. When we have held such activities here, we use the official looking
phony gold emblems of UCSD that are sold at the bookstore. It seems to
constitute social capital for those who obtain them. I assume that the forms
would depend on the needs of the participant.
