Thanks Pedro,
I forwarded the note to my colleagues, including the university provost, who
was, for lack of a better phrase, thankful for being informed. We take issues
like this pretty seriously here at LU, and offer a peaceable schools program
that is coordinated with the Educators for Social Responsibility.
My hope is that these times, like those of Joe McCarthy, will pass quickly. I
also hope that reports like this will not result in the intentional silencing
of many voices -- but each of us must take on that challenge at a personal
level.
