We have three positions open at the University of Rochester, one in
Mathematics education. Given the recent discussion about maths, I
thought some of you may know someone interested in a position. I

The Teaching and Curriculum Program invites applications for three
full-time, tenure-track positions at the assistant/associate
professor level.

Applicants are expected to be familiar with current research, best
practices and exemplary curricula for science education.
Responsibilities include teaching various courses in the teaching and
learning of science.
TENURE TRACK POSITION IN MATHEMATICS EDUCATION
Applicants are expected to be familiar with current research, best
practices and exemplary curricula for mathematics education.

learning of mathematics.
TENURE TRACK POSITION IN INCLUSIVE/SPECIAL EDUCATION
Applicants are expected to have a commitment to inclusive practices
and principles across educational contexts. Candidates should be able
to address progressive approaches to curriculum, instruction, and
assessment in the K-12 environment as well as issues of diversity.
The Teaching and Curriculum Department of the Warner School offers a
variety of masters' and doctoral programs. All these programs
emphasize a social, historical, and contextual approach to education
that is rooted in an interdisciplinary perspective. Each position
requires a commitment to teacher education, school reform, diversity
and equity, as well as a strong theoretical background and research
agenda. Responsibilities for tenure track faculty include: scholarly
and service activities, teaching graduate courses, advising graduate
students, supervision of student teachers, and successful grant
development. The positions will begin fall 2002. Candidates should
have an earned doctorate by that time.
