scientific brain functions

Eric-- Your substitute language simply doesn't work for me. I do not know
the configuration of brain functions that underlies the more explicit
descriptions of games rendered by literate versus non-literate Vai. Moreover,
I am not at all certain that the scientific/everyday distinction in Vygotsky
is at issue in that study.

I have no objection whatsoever to talking about brain functions in relation
to behavior when data are presented concerning both and their inter-relations
in the same study. But only in unpublished work with Luria and very early
work on avoidance conditioning in dogs have I ever engaged in such work myself
and the relevance to the current discussion continues to elude me.
