RE: tragedy in New York

As a non-American I want to express my horror at what has happened in the US
today, and my feelings of impotence at my incapacity to offer any meaningful
support. On hold for the moment is my fear about what the world could become
as a consequence of these events.

At the same time I am not really an outsider. I have a son who is on
Manhattan today, and he still hasn't been in touch. And anyway, if ever
there was a moment to want to commit oneself to one world, it would be now.
