Mike,

Quite possibly the reason there are administrators who dictate a specific
curriculum, complete with lines for the actors is because the field of
psychology has yet to delineate the difference Vygotsky termed scientific
versus spontaneous thought. In their zealousness to teach scientific inquiry
some educators believe one path will be most effective for the greatest
percentage of students and therefore that is the path the mediator should
take. Unfortunately this path disregards the spontaneous nature of effective
learning environments. Any other ideas?
