the following was presented to me as a true story but who really knows:

a little old american lady tourist was traveling through europe when she
came to the little cottage where beethoven had lived his final years.
inside was the little pianoforte that he had used to compose the ninth
symphony. there was a guard standing beside it, but it was not roped off.
she sat down at the stook and , seeing that there was no protest from the
guard, she began to plan 'fur elise.' the continued silence of the guard
made her nervous, so she decide to address him

' i bet you gets lost of famous visitors' she asked.
'yes ma'm. just last week, paderewsky (pardon my sp) dropped by.'
'im curious,' she asked, 'what piece did he play on this piano.'
'he did not feel himself worthy to touch the keys.'

the moral of the story -- the little old lady didnt know che.

hope you enjoyed my little tale, eric
