                     of the University of Toronto (OISE/UT)

Applications are invited for a tenure-stream position in Work,
Technologies and Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in
Education (OISE/UT). The appointment will be in the Department of
Sociology and Equity Studies in Education (with a minor cross-appointment
to the Department of Adult Education, Community Development and
Counselling Psychology).

 Responsibilities will include: coordinating development of the B. Ed.
Technological Studies teacher education program; teaching mainly in the
teacher education program; teaching graduate courses in work, technologies
and education; and developing a related program of research.

 The successful candidate will possess a doctoral degree, and have
demonstrated interest and competency in study of areas such as: the place
of technology education in schools and in a globalizing society; relations
between work and schooling or other forms of learning; workplace change;
equity issues in work and technology; and social, cultural, and
environmental consequences of technology.

 Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Appointments will commence on September 1, 2001 or later. Applications,
