Hi Mike,

In mid december I made a presentation on the Fifth Dimension to the
stakeholders in the Flaxmere Project. Stakeholders included the principals
of the five schools, community representatives and reps from the Ministry of
Education. As a consequence:

(a) The Flaxmere Project has indicated a desire to proceed in principle and
has asked us to prepare a full proposal. They have indicated that they might
provide two sites - one in a school and one at a marae (Maori meeting
house) - computer pods, software, and administrative and community liaison
personnel through the project budget. They are also keen to fill the role of
wizard's assistants by the use of Years 11 and 12 students at the high
school. there is an existing course of child development which they would be
interested in rewriting woth your/our assitance so that it could create the
context that you do through university courses at San Diego.

(b) Various divisions of the Ministry of Education have asked us to repeat
the presentation in a session at the Ministry's main office in Wellington.

In addtion I have been in touch with Jennifer Gill at Fulbright New Zealand.
I will be meeting her next week to see if Fulbright could and would support
this project - possibly providing fulbright opportunities for people from
San diego to work with us here and vice versa.

What do we need to do next to activate you guys?

cheers
