Debra, I just received a new book that may fit your need, namely:

Mantovani, G. (2000). Exploring borders: Understanding culture and
psychology. London: Routledge.

The book has a foreword by Mike Cole. Its 153 pages long and written in a
very accessible style.

Take a look.

Cheers,
