Nate,

I really don't see how anything I have written could ever lead you to set me
up as the object of the following statement:

"It seems to me that to say that facts are simply objective, neutral or the
like is one of the most
hideous forms of power. "

Who said this??? Is decontextualization your idea of a good way to proceed
in discussion??

If you want to argue against straw men, don't address the post to me.
Especially if you want to talk about central and south america where I lived
on work for the better part of a decade, working with the peasants who had
an annual income of about $300 and an infant mortality rate of 250/1000.
I'd go into that which is a prime example of CULTURAL-HISTORICAL adaptation
to the objective ecological parameters but I'm off on a trip now and will be
interested to see where all of this turns out when I return next week.

But please, be careful about putting words in my mouth, or anyone's for that
matter.

Glad you are enjoying Ilyenkov.

Paul
