Hallo Everyone!

As I'm first time on that list, I'd like to present myself shortly.
My name is Rafal Dziurla I work at The Institut of Psychology at Adam
Mickiewicz University, Poznan, Poland. Nowadays I work on my dotoral
dissertation concerning the problem of mediation in L.S. Vygotsky's
theory especially that part of his work describing
development of notions. There are a group of psychologists in our
intitute that share a strong fascination of the work of Lev
Siemionovich, there are at least about six dissertation based on his
works at the moment. My own interest is oscillating about the fact that
in growing number of texts written on Vygotsky, the problem of notion
development, seems to be marginalized by most of authors. Even if they
discuss the concept of the ZPD, to which the problem of notion
development is a basic one. But my opinions are narrowed to thet field
of literature that I have covered myself. If any one could help me I'd
be thankful.
Not so long ago I wrote an article titled: Semiotics of play in view of
development of hihger mental functions which is to be published in a
week or two in the net. I don't want to write endlessly now so if some
one is interested in reading it I'd easely send a copy (as I don't know
the site's address yet). This text is based on famous article of
Vygotsky about play and my fascinations concerning some semiotic
theories especielly that of Peirce and de Saussure.
At the end I'd like to mention that a month ago our Institute published
a whole number of an educatinal periodical concerning our works with
Vygotsky some of them are translated into English.
I wrote as much about our work not to advertising it but to set
connections to people also interested in the fascinating field of
contemporary psychology.

Regards,

Rafal Dziurla, M.A., AMU, Poland.
