Hi xmca folk.

For those interested in the issues of anglo/american cultural hegemony on
the internet, a recent study (actually just released at 9:30 a.m. EST today)
might be of interest. Focusing on "content related barriers" to the
participation of low income and underserved americans (primarily low income,
low levels of education according to the NPR-Kaiser-Kennedy study just
released), the study pointed to literacy barriers, language barriers
(English predominance), and lack of cultural diversity as three (of four)
important content barriers contributing to participation patterns.

The study is available at http://www.childrenspartnership.org/

I'm just starting to read it but thought it might be useful to some others
out there in xmcaland, especially since this is a heavy grant season right
now..
