i was hoping to explore the culture that influences my meaning-making and
that can't be done without some information, some discussion, some
give-and-take with others
around what we are doing
who we (think we) are
what others are thinking and feeling about what we do or don't do
a discussion about rules can be helpful, but
i see the process of developing them as more helpful than any rule(s) we
(or some of us) could produce.

the assumptions around who takes how much responsibility
what that looks like
how the activity and the community and whatever rules (unspoken or
explicit)
supports individuals learning about their cultural blinders---
---these kinds of questionings seem very important to me.

(i have learned more about what being an american means these past few
days than i have in years, my whole life, maybe!)
