The College of Education at the University of Illinois is currently
conducting a search to fill a tenure track faculty position with an
emphasis on learning technologies. This position is in our Department of
Human Research Education. We are looking for someone who has expertise in
learning technologies who can apply that expertise in school-based,
community college, and/or private sector settings. If you know of someone

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Department of Human Resource Education
College of Education
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
POSITION: Assistant Professor in Human Resource Education with
specialization in technologies for learning. This is a tenure accruing
position.
STARTING DATE: August 21, 2000
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should have:
1. An earned doctorate with an emphasis in technologies for learning.
2. Experience in applications of learning technologies, especially in
community college and/or business and industrial settings.
3. Evidence of preparation to teach graduate courses in learning technology.
4. A record of scholarly productivity in technologies for learning
exhibited through research, publication, and grant activity.
5. Interest and ability to work on collaborative research and development.
6. The ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be expected to contribute
to the graduate program of the Department of Human Resource Education as
follows:
1. Design and teach technology courses at the graduate level, with emphasis
on application in a variety of learning situations, including school-based,
community college, and private sector settings.
2. Plan and implement a program of research related to technology and its
application to learning.
3. Contribute to the development and coordination of the College of
Education learning technology specialization in the College of Education.
4. Advise master's and doctoral level graduate students specializing in
learning technologies.
5. Work with UIUC faculty, Illinois community colleges, and business and
industrial colleagues to develop new technologies and more effectively
integrate technology into their educational activities.
6. Play an active role in professional associations.
7. Serve on department, college, and campus committees and fulfill various
other assignments common to the professional role.
RANK: This is a regular, full-time tenure-track position at the rank of
Assistant Professor.
SALARY: Competitive, depending on scholarly record and experience.
