A note from Nate coincides with a note I received and it bothers me
enough to elicit this statement: THERE IS NO CHAT PURITY TEST!!!!!!!

We encountered this issue because people wanted to know if they could
volunteer their papers for discussion on xmca and were afraid that
they might not be relevant. And all those who made this inquiry
were long time members.

Here's the test: You volunteer a paper. Any member can do so, but if
the load gets to heavy, we will reconsider. The paper is posted. If
people discuss it, it passes. If no one writes a word, it does not.
Passes what? Not a purity test for sure, but a test of being able to
be taken up and used by members through our discussions.
