While not directly related to math and the architecture in the classroom, A
Hickson's "The Poisoned Bowl. Sex and the Public School" is a nice history
(mostly interviews) of the ways in which early twentieth century British
Boarding schools used the organizations of social relations, space, and the
architectures of the campuses to "discourage" their students from having sex
and developing relationships with other boys (of course, many did anyway).
The book could use a bit more analyses (i.e., particularly between the
organization of space and the organization of knowledge) but might be
interesting to you in any case...
