Dearest Xmca participants
I would like to invite you to review and help shape a project
that I have been working on with Vera John Steiner , Deborah
Hicks, Judy Diamondstone and with "others in mind".
It is the following: Many months ago, I posted a few messages
about parallel themes in the general project of cultural historical
activity theory/sociocultural theory and feminist theories and
methods.
Many of you contributed to the discussion, and several posted
messages offline indicating that you were already at work on the
topic in one way or another or were interested in work on this
type of conversation.
To date, Vera, Deborah and Judy have helped nurture a fledgeling
idea for a proposal for a special issue of the journal MCA on
comparisons and contrasts in these two interdiscikplinary and
broad endeavors as they pertain to education and human development
particularly.
If you are interested in seeing what is on the table, please send
email to kbrown who-is-at weber.ucsd.edu and I will tell you more.
We have a long way to go before we make a proposal to the
editors of the journal, but we have encouragement and what I
think are some good ideas.
Thanks
Katherine Brown
