I have read all the Daly messages, and what really stands out (for me) are
the very different readings of this "incident" - the interpretations of
what "happened" and what is important
"Cui bono"?
My own experience of a university-sponsored lynching would lead me to focus
on the "target" - a feminist doing her messy feminist thing in very
anti-feminist anti-affirmative action backlash times
Because if you read the narrative, there are so many different endings that
would have probably been plausible had the university's motive been
different. To this reader, the university seized on the particular event as
a means to rid itself of a nuisance.
